On a recent trip to Japan I got to watch the weaver create the unique fabric for this tallit. The multi layer technique began with the tedious weaving of delicate threads of silk. When the initial background was completed a second weaving began. Working from a hand drawn pattern the delicate embroidery was added. Every color change required the snipping of the threads (super time consuming) but ever so beautiful. The tallit measures 74” x 24” and sits shawl style with a pale green satin attarah measuring 38” x 3”. Hours and hours in the making this very special tallit is $575.
