Who is Wendy Light?

For almost 17 years Wendy Light has been living in and sewing from (usually) sunny Los Angeles.  She has spent her professional life involved in Jewish education; as a National Education Consultant for United Synagogue; Education Director of two large Philadelphia Religious Schools and art teacher at Camp Ramah.

Wendy holds a Doctorate (Honoris Causa) from the Jewish Theological Seminary and a Masters Degree in Jewish Educational Administration from Gratz College graduating as its Valedictorian. She has a BS from Southampton College of Long Island University with a double degree in Anthropology, Education, Sociology, and Psychology (getting all the ‘ologies’ under her belt) and worked as lead teacher on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation. Wendy was a Wind Foundation Fellowship recipient and named their “Outstanding Jewish Educator.”

In the category of other things you might like to know but really couldn’t care about:

-holds a second-degree brown belt in judo

-studied art with Larry Rivers, Fairfield Porter and William de’ Kooning.

-doesn’t really take herself too seriously and

-absolutely hates writing about herself in the second person.

After 42 years of living in Philadelphia, Wendy and her husband, Ivan moved west to embrace the sun, their 4 children and spouses and their 11 grandchildren ranging in age from 4-25.
